# Edit a Shopify discount in Smarty

> Use this when a promotion already exists and you want to edit, turn off, delete, or copy it. Find a discount on the dashboard, save, duplicate, or use bulk activate, deactivate, and delete.

## Open the editor

<Steps>

    **Apps** → **Smarty Discounts** → **Dashboard**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the discount">
    **Search** or filter (e.g. **Active**).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open">
    Click the discount **title**. The **editor** opens.
  </Step>

<Warning>
  **Legacy** discounts use an older editor path — edit the same way; create **new** discounts with the current flow ([Create a discount](create-discount)).

## Change and save

Update the same areas as in [Create a discount](create-discount): method, eligibility, apply rules, value, tiers, limitations, [**Discount tags**](features#discount-tags), **combinations**, **time period** (and active dates), subscriptions. For what each setting means, use [Features](features).

  Change **one** thing, save, and test **checkout** when debugging.

## Export rule

You can **Export rule** in the top bar to download a **.txt** copy of this discount’s settings to your computer (for a backup, or to use when you [create a discount](create-discount) in this store or another). Full steps: [Import and export discount rules](import-export-rules).

## Duplicate

    Open the discount.

    **Duplicate** (or similar) in the page actions.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Adjust and save">
    Adjust title, dates, or rules on the copy, then save.
  </Step>

## Shareable link (automatic discounts)

If the app offers **shareable link**, copy the URL for emails or landing pages when Shopify provides it.

## Bulk actions on the list

    Select discounts with checkboxes.

  <Step title="Run action">
    **Activate**, **Deactivate**, or **Delete** from bulk actions.
  </Step>

<Warning>
  **Delete** may not be undoable in one click — confirm the selection.
